Department of Agronomy PAU Hiring Junior Research Fellow

Recruitment of Junior Research Fellow Applications are invited for one position of Junior Research Fellow purely on contractual basis, time bound and non-regular nature under the ANRF SERB funded project on “Mapping and fine Mapping of genomic regions associated with dry root rot disease resistance in chickpea”. Project Code: 24-866, FMS No. 1015643. The application deadline is 9 th December, 2024 and the short listed candidates will be informed about thedetails of the online interview (Date and Time) by email. The interview will be held at IARI’s Regional Research Centre, Opp. UAS Campus, PB. Road Dharwad, Karnataka. The eligible candidates are requested to send their application in the enclosed proforma (Annexure-I) and declaration form (Annexure-II) along with the scanned copies of the original documents in a single PDF file to the email address with a copy to on or before 9.12.2024, 05.30 PM. After screening the applications, the eligible candidates will be informed about the details of the online interview (Date and Time) by email. Original documents will be verified at the time of interview. Therefore, shortlisted candidates will be required to carry their recent bio-data in the enclosed formats along with original copies of the relevant documents besides the copy of M.Sc/M.Tech Thesis. If any candidate is found to have submitted false claims during screening or at later stage, their candidature will be summarily rejected.

The details of the posts are asfollows:

Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Qualification Required:

  • Essential Qualification:

Post Graduate Degree in Genetics and Plant Breeding/ Biotechnology) selected through a process described through any one of the following:

1. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.

2. The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER etc

  • Desirable Qualification: Candidate having basic understanding/ hands on experience of molecular biology technics, bioinformatics would be desired.

Terms and conditions:

1. Age limit: Maximum age is 35 years for Junior Research Fellow (age relaxation of five years for SC/ST & women and three years for OBC). The minimum age should be 18 years as on dateof interview.

2. The post is purely temporary and will be filled on a contractual basis for one year or till the termination of the project, whichever is earlier.

3. The selected candidate shall not claim regular appointment at this Institute, as the post is co-terminus with the project.

4. The interview for eligible candidates will be held online, the details of which will be communicated to eligible candidates by email.

5. Reporting time for online interview will be communicated and all the candidates shall adhere to the instructions.

6. The candidates will have to compulsorily filled in application form (as per the format annexed), all the scan certificates from matriculation onwards, date of birth certificate, NET/equivalent certificate, degree certificate either original or provisional and a recent photograph enclosed onto the scan application form. Proof of experience and publications also need to be sent by email.

7. The selected candidate will be required to produce all the original documents and medical certificate at the time of joining. Proof of experience and publications also need to be submitted.

8. No TA/DA/ any other expenses will be paid for attending the interview.

9. Only the candidates meeting essential qualifications will be interviewed.

10. Concealing of facts or canvassing in any form shall lead to disqualification or termination of such candidates.

11. The candidate intending to attend the online interview, if any of his near or distant relative is an employee of the ICAR/IARI, have to declare his/her name, designation, nature of duties, relationship in writing. If on the date of the online interview such declaration is furnished and found that his relative is an employee of ICAR/IARI, such candidate will not be allowed to appear in the interview.

12. All the other candidates are also required compulsorily submit the scan declaration duly signed in the format annexed along with other documents in the e-mail.

13. The candidates will have to submit applications and documents in a single PDF file. The application not submitted in single file will be rejected.

14. In case of any disputes, it will be resolved in the jurisdiction of New Delhi court only.
